Ms Coble has gotten my attention the second of her books for me and I want more! This Story of city and vastness of Alaska comes together in two unlikely hearts of Tank Lassitier an Alaskan biologist studying Bears and Haley Walsh a Photographer on assignment with a movie crew lead by Lipo Norwak TV personality in Alaska to shot Bears for his show. Haley's with her Writer Grandmother Augusta Walash. Haley was raised by Augusta after a tragic accident caused the death of her sister twenty years before. Haley only eight had been trapped in a mine craven that took Cole's life and left her with the loss of a leg. Her parents Archeologist living in Alaska at that time had blamed her and all but abandon her to be raised by her father's mother. The story is of full of surprise after surprise,, but you cannot stop until you want for more. Thank you for sharing this wonderful story of love and not only romance, but family and friends renewal! Even Miki (a bear raised by Tank from cub after his mother died) was loved and was a hero!

Alaska Twilight by Colleen Coble -- Loved this book. I have read most of and enjoyed most of Colleen Coble's books. Other reviewers have said what I would. While the format of the book may be somewhat predictable (hero/heroine meet, fall in love, cannot see a way for a life together), the story has enough suspense & twists to be a very enjoyable read. There is a traumatic past, a murder mystery, a dysfunctional family, a killer bear roaming loose, a cave in and a developing love story. The heroine is an amputee and the hero is everything a hero should be. And if that isn't enough, Bree and Kade Matthews along with Samson (from the Rock Harbor Series) are called upon to aide in finding a missing person. I love the way this ending was written. Of course, this is a clean read book proving that books will sell without all of that explicit sex. Thank you, colleen Coble! I will enjoy re-visiting this book again and again. Loved it!

Books that take place in Alaska always make me curious, hence the reason I started this book.Sadly the few books written by Miss Colleen that I've read haven't been my style. Although I like a good mystery, I really dislike violence, and her books have too much violence for my tastes. In addition to human/human violence, there was also animal/human violence. There were several other things I disliked, including the fact that some of the comments regarding bears seemed ill-researched and therefore took me out of the story and made it feel unbelievable to me.The plot was interesting, and the main characters were complex and grew during the story, but overall this book really wasn't one I liked.

I love you Colleen!! LOL! I have this book in paperback and hadn't read for a few years, so I decided to try it a second time on my Kindle. The book was just as good the second time as the first and I couldn't remember everything that happened and whodunit so that was great! If you have heard of or read the Rock Harbor series, you are in for a special treat as well. That's all I will say! As for this story, one of Colleen's best. The setting was fantastic and I always felt I was right there along with them in my tent in the wilderness. I fell in love with so many of the people in this book, and I know for a fact that Haley and Libby would both be my friends! This is a fantastic book. It is my favorite kind; romantic suspense with a Christian message. Thank you so much Colleen for your stories, I enjoy them so much!! :)

I will pick up just about any novel set in Alaska and when this was available on the Kindle, I decided it was a great opportunity to read a story set in a favorite location and to try out a new author as well. I read a lot of different genres and will try just about any author once (though nothing portraying naked bodies on the front since those aren't for me).The story of Haley Walsh drives this effort by Christian novelist Colleen Coble. Haley is dealing with the effects of a painful childhood and her Arizona psychologist has suggested that going back to Alaska where it all started would help her overcome those effects. Her sister's death at a young age and the subsequent rejection by her parents has caused untold damage to her psychologically and she is also continues to deal with the injury she suffered during that time. This book is a little bit romance and a little bit suspense since several deaths have recently occurred that are starting to look suspicious. To be candid, I can't agree with all the 5-star reviews out there. While the book wasn't bad, it wasn't that great either. The story is predictable, choppy, and just all over the place. The character development was fairly non-existent and the physical description of what people looked like seemed to be substituted for characterization. Characters seemed to be inserted randomly -- Haley's grandmother, Augusta, seems to be written in largely to deliver mini-sermons and doesn't say or do much otherwise. I have no idea what the characters on the bear hunting adventure were supposed to provide to the storyline either. I never did understand Haley's parent's rejection even though I have the distinct impressions the author thinks I should.Overall, not terrible and if you are looking for a clean, simple story this might be just fine for you. If you are looking for an engrossing tale where people's motivations are explored and a great story told, I would pass. (Not even the setting of Alaska saved this one for me since it wasn't utilized that well). While I did finish the book and I have read much worse over the years, there was nothing here that leads me to seek out any other book by this author.

I enjoyed the suspense of this book. The author did an excellent job of pulling all of the incidents together at the end. She combined many aspects of human nature from greed to love.

Usually, even though you might still enjoy the read, you figure out, "who done it" (Yes, that 's, bad grammar) really early. I didn't figure out this mystery until Coble chose to reveal it. It has the brilliance and draw as all her books do, but this is one of my favorites. It took a little longer to get into it, but it was well worth the investment of time!
