ANGELO ALBINI is Professor of Organic Chemistry at the University of Pavia. His scientific investigations focus on many aspects of organic photochemistry. In addition to publishing original research articles, he has coauthored or edited three books, including Handbook of Synthetic Photochemistry (Wiley). Dr. Albini is the recipient of the Federchimica Prize, awarded for creativity in chemistry. MAURIZIO FAGNONI, PhD, is Associate Professor of Chemistry at the University of Pavia. His research emphasizes the application of photochemistry to sustainable organic synthesis, encompassing photocatalysis and phenyl cation chemistry. Read this at the library. Love the ending. Bought it along with a kite for my 3 yr old granddaughter. She's happy though that we have no trees nearby to lose her kite in!

My mild special needs preschool class likes Bear and Mole, but the ending of this book is a little unclear. Great illustrations, but ending will need to be explained.

Good text book for those wanting basic legal information about Tort Law. Broken down by the different categories of liability. Uses case law to illustrate points. Provides information (elements) needed by plaintiff and strategies used by the defense. Book was written by attorneys specifically for paralegals so wont teach the reader how to practice law, but how the law works in liability cases. Very fast and easy to read, yet also informative.

Tort Law provides so much information in preparing a case. Although its required reading for a class, it also a great guide to how tort law works for the average citizen.The case subjects are great in helping the reader get a better understanding of the issues.

The overall book was fine. Information provide was relevant and helpful scenarios throughout the book. I rented a used book so there was writing and highlighting in the book but not enough to distract me from the material.

Very good short book about the 1962 Mets. They were probably the worst team in MLB history. Breslin takes a light hearted look at them and look at what brought it all about. Any baseball fan should like this and especilly New York Met fan.

The Mets. It's a franchise that has frustrated and delighted fans for decades. From the early days of record losses to amazing series wins and back again. It's a rollercoaster ride. This book focuses on the beginning, the 40 wins and 120 losses days. A retrospective for Mets fans that could elicit smiles or a reminder of those miserable days. It was a rough start with some colorful characters but the Mets gathered a loyal and patient fan base. Part of the reason for that might be the Brooklyn Dodgers fans who experienced disappointment and elation for many years and who were starved for a National League team to call their own. It's a quick read and well wotrth the time.

this is a short book by Jimmy Breslin about the 1962 NY Mets. This was the first year of their existence and they were comically inept as recounted in the pages of this book. They ended up losing 120 games which is a record. The team managed by 73 yr. old Casey Stengel , was made up of players who were castoffs from other teams and veteran players who had seen their better days. The Mets filled a void in New York after the Dodger and Giants had left and this team through their play and colorful characters won many New Yorkers over. Breslin has a talent for relating humorous stories, I particularly liked where he wrote that the Mets were going to give a Birthday cake to their first baseman Marvelous Marv Thornberry but decided against it because they were afraid he 'd drop it. While there are no pictures in this paperback edition, there is an appendix listing the 1962 Mets by position and it is interesting that one of the 1st baseman-Gil Hodges would become the Mets manager leading them to the World Series in 1969 with another member of the '62 team playing 1st base- Ed Kranepool. This is a great story of the Mets first year. As Tug McGraw once said " you gotta believe."

Breslin was a fantastic writer and he was never better than chronicling the story of the 1962 New York Mets, by most accounts, the worst team in MLB history. The National League had abandoned New York City in 1957 and five years later a new franchise was born made up mostly of cast offs from the other NL teams. The '62 Mets were famously inept but universally loved by the fans and Breslin captures the magical year as only he could

Seeing American League games wasn't a problem as the White Sox played mostly at night, but all of the Cubs games were in the afternoon, and this was cutting heavily into Hornsby's time for racetrack plunging, a real annoyance for him.Here's a comment about other clubs' possible castoffs that Hornsby made one Wrigley Field afternoon:"They say we're going to get players out of a grab bag. From what I seen, it's going to be a garbage bag. Ain't nobody got fat off eating out of the garbage, and that's just what the Mets is going to have to do. This is terrible. I mean, this is really going to be bad."So tell us what you REALLY think, Raj!Was he ever right! Their first season, the NY Mets lost 120 games, doing so in the most creatively colorful way in baseball history.On the occasion of his 73rd birthday, manager Casey Stengel drew thoughtfully on a cigarette, sipped a Manhattan at a hotel bar and recalled a particularly shocking game. He told of bringing a catcher up from Syracuse who could possibly control action on the basepath against a steal-intensive Dodgers club:"...I don't want to be embarrassed. So we bring him and he is going to throw out these runners."We come in there and you never seen anything like it in your life. I find I got a defensive catcher, only who can't catch the ball. The pitcher throws. Wild pitch. Throws again. Passed ball. Throws again. Oops! The ball drops out of the glove. And all the time I am dizzy on account of these runners running around in circles on me and so forth."Makes a man think. It teaches you how to put your hair in a regular ugly ponytail.

This was very helpful for someone who's never been camping and planning to take two young kids along. The book offers lots of information about many aspects of camping, including preparation, logistics, activities, and food planning. The style of writing makes it easy to digest and the layout of information is logical. It's ideal for beginners and I continue to use this book as a reference. I wish it had more knots to try and generally more activity ideas for the kids.

I have always loved camping. In highschool I base camped and backpacked. My husband not so much. We now have a 1 year old and 2 year old and camping has taken on a whole new meaning. This book is great! it gives you premade lists and little tidbits to remember when camping with babies to teenagers. I almost left the playpen because my kids sleep on cots but this book insisted on bringing a playpen and I'm sooooooo glad I did. Our first camping trip to Death Valley was a hit with the whole family and I thank this book for that.

I'm in my 30s, I've never camped except once in Girl Scouts when I was 9. Anyway, that's awful. So I want my kids to grow up with camping and we are starting this summer. This book is awesome! Yeah, it's probably all common sense to people who have been around this their whole life, but to me it was very interesting and informative. Love it.

My husband and I transitioned from backcountry camping to car camping when our first little one arrived five years ago. As an experienced backpacker and now car camper with kids, I can say that this is a book with sound advice. I was a bit skeptical about this book at first - is it going to be another that is a bit dated or tell me nothing new - but having read it, I highly recommend it to any family contemplating taking the kids out for the first time (or to one always looking for new tricks - I like the bit about building a fire). The writing is concise and witty. Very easy to read. The sectional breakdown logical. Highly recommended.

I enjoy camping as much as the next guy, however I don't particularity have any kids. I just used this book as a Reddit Gift Exchange item and the family I mailed it to messaged me to tell me that they "LOVED IT!" So I would only assume it was a perfect gift for the entire family everyone would enjoy.

Nice book full of ideas for camping with kids. I didn't find much of it to be new for me unfortunately. Also I was hoping for more about backpacking. Most of the book focuses on car camping.

My 7 year old daughter (2nd grade) got this set for Christmas, as recommended by a friend. She does not want to put the set down!! She loves these books. It's great because there are a ton of photos, but good reading too. She thinks the books are funny and I am just thrilled she found something that she loves to read! I was looking for the perfect transitional series for her since she is no longer in the board book/picture book phase, but stepping into a more grown up reading style. I'm one happy mama! BUY THIS SERIES! You won't regret it.

My 8 year old daughter LOVES Sisters and Smile. We gave her the box set for Christmas and she has already read them both twice. I love that these books have her wanting to turn off the television and her other electronics so she can read them - again. I love that they also have her wanting to be an illustrator someday.

We bought these for my daughter for Christmas and she finished them (plus Ghosts and Drama) in a day or two. She has read them over and over since then, to herself and her younger sister. She loves Raina Telgemeier's books and they are very positive, and very real. My daughter relates to them incredibly well.

awesome graphic novels! my 8-year-old daughter keeps reading and re-reading these. And they were perfect beginner-reading books, as you could understand the story even if the kid doesn't have the reading skills all the way down.

My daughter is hooked on the author. She's turning 8 and I was worried some of the themes would be over her head, but as always she surprised me and asked me thoughtful questions. She loved the book, finished it in 2 nights, and it provided great discussion opportunities for the both of us.

My ten year old adores this author! She teaches about things that are relevant to young girls in today’s world. My daughter isn’t a big fan of reading but she’ll sit and read any of her books front cover to cover in one sitting! She’s in love with this collection and I hope to see more from her very soon!

My 8 yo enjoyed reading both books (she had just gotten braces and she has a younger sister). She enjoyed the humor and could relate to the frustrations of having a younger sibling.
