The dynamics of the group added information for the investigators.The constables probe into the past once again, while discovering new suspects in the present.I liked how multiple perspectives of the detectives and the adult versions of those six remaining teens kept the story moving along, leading ever so slowly toward a resolution of the crime. I liked Jonah the most, and also felt an affinity for the newbie constable, Juliette Hanson, who struggles to do everything correctly, but who is also sometimes quick to judgment.Slowly unfolding hints of what might lie ahead kept me glued to the pages of this 5 star read.

"She Lies in Wait," is a fantastic book that I devoured in 6 hours. I waffled back and forth between my guess as to who may have committed the crime, who had the motive, who could have lived with themselves for thirty years, and I still hadn't made a decisive guess until near the end! Gytha writes each character with enough depth to be considered a viable suspect, which means no one is off the suspect list with any certainty! The story has an easy to follow transition between past and present, provides a voice to the victim, as well as the suspects, and masterfully intertwines their individual stories. The police squad members (Americans may want to brush up on the DCI, constable terminology first) have their own idiosyncrasies that play into the mystery and make the reading even more enjoyable. As an Anglophile, I thoroughly enjoyed the British setting and nuances. It is a wonderful "whodunit" and I cannot wait to read what comes next and see which characters return in this series!

I was determined to stick with this story, but it was a struggle. The first two thirds of the book moved along at a glacial pace. It picked up towards the end. I think this is the author's first book so I'm sure she will adjust the pacing in her future works. Severe lack of tension for quite a while before the story played out. I really liked the main character, Jonah, and think he will be good in the planned series. Not so sure about Hanson (his assistant)....a few things were left hanging with her.

The sheer amount of hymns (thousands is correct!) means that it takes a while to scroll through each letter, but this means that I have been introduced to many hymns that I never normally would have known (the hitherto unknown-to-me classic "Blest is the man whose bowels move" by Isaac Watts being one shining example: "He, in the time of grief, shall find the Lord has bowels too".But in all seriousness, this is the hymn book I've been waiting for on kindle. It's complete and comprehensive.My reference is Welsh hymnody and it's great to see many of the hymns I grew up on included in this (and an indicator of the level of research that went into this work).It would be nice to see the hymns categorized by theme, author or scripture, but on a work this immense, that is a minor quibble.This is a blessing in my life and a great resource.

The largest collection of hymns I've seen in one book. Unfortunately, for author most of the hymns have 0. "Among us our Beloved Stands" should list Charles Spurgeon but lists "Author: 0". It's nice devotional reading but would be more helpful if authorship, time signature (8,8,8,8) and suggested melody title (Hamburg) were. given.

This book is virtually a complete resource. The texts included are not just the commonly referenced ones or the public domain ones.for example, most people are only aware of four verses of John newton's, "amazing Grace." Now, with the recent Chris Tomlin addition of the song, some are aware of five or six. What sets this book apart is that it contains The full text of the hymn. It includes a seventh verse. In addition to the new selections for old pieces, this book contains 9000 hymns on its own. That should keep one coming back for more and more. if there is one very tiny complaint to be had, it is this; the book does not contain a meter or an author index. This being said however, this book is well worth a normal price, much less the current discount price.

Great to have it on the Kindle for use at church.

We use this app all the time for lyrics to our favorite hymns and new hymns we're trying to memorize. A great little app that does so much for our family. Truly a blessing.

Good for 1992, but none of the maps are to scale, and the only indication as to which direction every particular one-way street is, is in a little footnote at the beginning of the atlas, maybe 1992 technology couldn't have just printed a little arrow on every block but this thing is completely useless for actual navigation by 2018, it's purely a novelty item for map lovers.That guidance is factually incorrect in certain cases. For example, East 58th and East 59th are both one way heading east despite the fact that one is odd and one is even. Brooklyn is just a total mess who the heck could possibly know which way Java India Huron and Green all go? Not a problem for most cities but big problem for NYC. Again, not like I'm expecting anyone to use this for actual navigation in 2018, but in large parts of the city you couldn't use it for actual navigation in 1992 either.But as a novelty item for map lovers it's definitely very cool. That's why it's still getting four stars from me. It would have got three 25 years ago.

This atlas is very good, nicely detailed, well laid out and very crisply printed. This size is perfect for your glove box or carry it with you. If you wanted to plot out alternate routes or just to see the "big" picture then the larger size would be suggested. Note that this smaller version was labeled on Amazon as laminated but it was not. A bit of a let down but the price made it a steal.

This atlas replaced my 1989 atlas. The new atlas has maps which are clearer, and the book contains more information than the old edition. Both of these rate a plus. But the pages are printed on much thinner paper than the old edition. The book is spiral bound and the pages tear easily. Thinner paper means the book will wear out quickly, which is disappointing.

This is a fine, small (key word being small) reference booklet. I wouldn't rely on it solely by any means, but it would definitely be easy to carry in a pocket. I've included a photo comparing it to Rick Steves' Italian phrase book so you'll know exactly how tiny it is. The price difference was only $3--I personally would rather pay that much more for a more comprehensive phrase book than pay $6 for what's little more than a pamphlet.

This book will not have you fluent in Italian, but it is just what is needed to communicate in hotels, restaurants, tourist attractions and taxis. Small enough to carry with you without being a burden.

Great little pocket guide. I moved to Italy and didn't leave home without this for the first few months. Very easy to read, like the italicized pronounciation. All the conversation essentials.

Just what I wanted for an introduction to the language. I use it as part of an online language learning course. My wife uses it to prepare for a trip to Italy.. The very last page give ten quick phrases you can memorize in a few minutes that will have you speaking the language the first day.

In this book Robert Sanderson Mulliken, one of the pioneers of molecular orbital (MO) theory and Nobel prize winner, recounts about his original research and rich scientific life in the field of chemical physics which spanned half-century. An interesting aspect of the author's academic career is that he started his research activity in the field of molecular spectroscopy but in order to interpret the complex experimental results he gradually expanded his interests toward theory. During the 1930s, soon after the discovery of quantum mechanics, several physicists and chemists started to apply quantum mechanics to the study of molecules: Mulliken in America and Friedrich Hund in Germany developed MO theory while Walter Heitler and Fritz London in Europe and John Slater and Linus Pauling in USA developed the valence bond (VB) method. In 1966 Mulliken received the Nobel prize in Chemistry for the development of MO theory and his fundamental work on the electronic structure of molecules (for an overview of Mulliken's research see the book: Selected Papers of Robert S. Mulliken, 1975). Unfortunately Hund did not receive the coveted prize but Mulliken stated that he would have been glad sharing it with him. The book contains many details about spectroscopic and theoretical studies performed on specific molecules (Mulliken's favorite molecule was molecular nitrogen, N2) as well as the names of Professor Mulliken's collaborators and visitors at The University of Chicago. The book ends with the list of Mulliken's publications and a timeline of all the important events surrounding the life of this great scientist.

Easy read and nicely illustrated with simple drawings to explain many of the finer (and confusing) points of cricket. Over the years I've had a number of my English friends try to explain the game of cricket to me, but all in vain. Invariably it ended in complete confusion. However, having read and studied this little book, the curtain has lifted on some of confusion just a bit. Yet, though reasonably enlightened, I think the real problem lies in the fact that the game of cricket was never meant to be understood fully by the American psyche. It's totally British and can only be fully understood and appreciated by those raised with a sense of the game's history and traditions.Nonetheless, this is a fine little book and one which will certainly give you a better understanding of this most English of games---cricket!

Great book. Quick read with a thorough explanation of the game. As someone who knew almost nothing about cricket before reading this book, I feel as if I could now watch a cricket match and understand most of what is happening. One important thing this book does is avoid getting too technical. Yes, it explains what many of the common terms mean, but it avoids going too in depth into statistics and strategy that would lose many readers unfamiliar with the game. If you know very little about cricket and want to better understand the game, this quick read is the book for you.

For a quick reference guide, one can hardly do better. There is not an overwhelming amount of depth to the book, but as a 'now what exactly was that bit again' kind of work, it's brilliant. The author has a nice, light tone but still manages to make cricket really approachable, even for someone who either doesn't know or even doesn't want to know about cricket.

I am a newby to cricket and was having a hard time finding any books on the rules of cricket, this book is perfect. I appreciate that it is not highbrow nor do they talk down to the reader. It has been a pleasure to read and has answered my questions, (along with Google). I had to look up what the "follow-on" rule was. Test cricket is something else!

This is a very readable book. As an explanation of cricket it goes a long way toward explaining how an apparently boring game can possibly become interesting. After reading I was motivated to find a cricket match on YouTube. The explanations were very helpful but I still find the game, the commentary and the very long times of inaction baffling.

Even an American can understand this explanation

As an American wanting to better understand the game of cricket, this book was invaluable. With so many Cricket Clubs in the Philadelphia area (they're now really just country clubs) it is sad they cricket is no longer played on a regular basis. Haverford and Pennsylvania used to be the two cricket powerhouses of American collegiate cricket, nowadays not so much.

If you are new to Cricket, this is a must-have book along with Cricket Manual: The Official Guide to Playing the Gameby Andy Tennant. The only two you will need!
